On February 1, 2019, the National Center for College and Career Transitions (NC3T) will launch Seamless WBL, a browser-based web application designed to help educators find partners and manage their work-based learning activities. Features include:
Educators will have access to a searchable list of business contacts (populated by their schools) interested in participating in work-based learning initiatives, with searches based on industry cluster and types of WBL activities supported.
A module to help educators manage their advisory boards, with document templates (by-laws, agendas, etc.), a calendar and invitation function, and an area to upload minutes and sign-in sheets. Educators can run more than one advisory board at a time.
Modules for managing various types of work-based learning activities, from guest speakers to internships. Includes templates (partnership agreements, parent forms, evaluation materials, etc.), scheduling and reminder function, and follow-up survey to gauge student and employer experiences.
Seamless WBL will offer a resource area that includes document templates, worksheets, guides, and video tutorials to help fully prepare educators to work with their partners and create high-quality WBL experiences.
Educators and the site administrator will be able to run a variety of reports, such as Partner Activity, WBL Initiatives by Type, and WBL Initiatives by Educator. They will also be able to easily export uploaded documents, such as advisory board minutes and sign-in sheets, to make Perkins reporting as easy as possible.
NC3T will offer Seamless WBL through an annual site license for schools; cost will vary based on the number of students at the school in question. Schools can expect to invest between $500 and $1,500 per year for unlimited site-wide use.
